Mudra Challenge # 9 - Chalkboard Technique

s
Hello friends!! This is Kanan with Deepti and today we both will be sharing wonderful "Chalkboard Technique" which is our Challenge #9 theme.

A little bit about "ChalkBoard Technique".

It's an old yet super trendy technique. You must have seen oodles of examples and inspiration on Pinterest, Etsy, YouTube, even your favorite restaurants or coffee shop or any art store. The simple black and white color combination can add so much magic to your art work.
In this technique you can use your favorite inks, colored pencils, embossing powders and take your creativity to the whole new level.
From solid to outlined stamping and from birthday to anniversary or any other occasion. This fun technique will give you beautiful result and new look to your projects.

Our awesome design team will provide you plenty of inspiration this whole month. I am sure you guys will join us and show us your creativity.

So lets start with the inspiration.

My Card -

  • Chalkboard technique is new to me. I have always loved this technique, but never tried myself.
  • Took a black card panel and white embossed the stamp images from the " Universal Love", "Be a Ninja" and "Dainty Blooms" sets.
  • Used white, pink and light teal colored pencils to highlight and color some part of the images for more real chalkboard look.
  • Drew borders on all sides of the panel using first a white pencil and then highlighted it with white gel pen.
  • After that I applied white chalk ink on background very lightly.
  • Lastly, embellished it with lace and buttons and die cut flower.
  • Added the panel on a card base on which I used patterned paper for more interest.
  • The floral patterned paper adds so much interest against this beautiful chalkboard panel.

Deepti's Card

  • I simply stamped the third layer of the butterfly with Color Box White Chalk ink and layered the sentiment panel with Vellum.
