Geometric and Floral Challenge inspiration cards.

Geometric and Floral are my favourite combination. So when I saw this month's challenge on Mudra Blog, I was like YES! I could not wait to make cards using this combination and share with you all.

Hello everyone, This is Gayatri here with you sharing couple of card for this month's challenge. For the first card, I used Flower Bunch stamp set to stamp and watercolour to make my own background.
Here is the card #1

  • I used the flower cluster in the stamp set to stamp all over the watercolour panel in black ink.
  • I coloured them using Zig Clean Colour Brush Pens.
  • To add the geometric part of the challenge, I used the grey zig pen to add broad horizontal striped on the background.
  • The big sentiment is from Purely Sentiment Brushed stamp set, stamped vertically.
  • The smaller sentiment is stamped vertically above and below the big sentiment.
  • Finally added white Nuvo crystal drops to finish the card.

Here are the closeups of the card.

For the second card, I used Magnolia stamp set along with Floral Mosaic stencil.

  • I stamped the Magnolia flower cluster in black on the top of the panel twice cover it fully.
  • I coloured the images using copic markers.
  • To the bottom of the panel, I sponged Blueprint Sketch distress ink lightly fading away.
  • Then I place the Floral Mosaic stencil and sponged the Blueprint Sketch ink this time strongly so the pattern shows.
  • The big sentiment from the Purely Sentiment Brushed stamp set is stamped directly on the bottom of the panel.
  • The smaller sentiment is stamped in black on a strip of pink cardstock and adhered using foam adhesive.
  • Again I finish the card with a scattering of white Nuvo crystal drops.

Here are the closeups of the card.

Both my cards have floral clusters. But I showed you two ways to add geometric element to the card. First one you can do it yourself by painting horizontal stripes with your own choice of medium. I used watercolour. I also went for subtle grey strips but you can do black for bold contrast.
For the second card, I used stencil to add the geometric element. I did a tone on tone for subtle effect. You could do it in black for high contrast.

Hope you enjoyed the projects I shared today and got inspired. If you make a project for the challenge, make sure to link it to the Mudra Challenge Blog Post. Click the graphic below for the challenge blog post.
