Hello Friends,
Hope you had a wonderful weekend and Happy World Cardmaking Day! When I saw the new September releases, the first stamp set that caught my eye was the Warli Design stamp set. Then the two Warli Pattern and Warli Mandala design stencils. So as soon as I got them, I played with them and so here I am sharing with you the three cards I made using them.
Here is the first card.
1. I used a white cardstock panel, masked the top and bottom using masking paper for about an inch.
2. I sponged Fossilised Amber, Wild Honey and Rustic Hinge distress inks darker on the edges and lighter in the middle.
3. Then I place the Warli Mandala stencil and sponged Rustic Hinge distress ink. So the pattern is more tone on tone and subtle.
4. Then stamped the Warli image in black over the stenciled area.
5. The sentiment is also stamped in black ink and the sentiment is from Sparkle stamp set.
6. Removed the mask and stamped the border Warli image on top and bottom.
7. Added a strip of black cardstock on the edges of the sponged area.
8. Trimmed the panel and adhered to the burnt orange card base.
9. Used gold sequins to embellish.
For the second card, I made a Warli design background.
1. Again I sponged a white cardstock panel with distress inks. I used Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber and Ripe Persimmion.
2. Once dry, I stamped the Warli images in black ink randomly covering the entire panel.
3. I trimmed the panel and roughed the edges with scissors and adhered to the black card base.
4. The sentiment from Sparkle stamp set is white heat embossed on black cardstock, trimmed and adhered on the centre of the card front using foam adhesive.
5. Gold sequins to embellish the card.
For the third card, I white heat embossed the Warli images to create a village scene.
1. Keeping a similar colours on the background except I added Candied Apple and Barn Door distress inks
2. Then I used the Warli Pattern stencil over the sponged panel and sponged the same colours to get tone on tone effect.
3. Then I white heat embossed the Warli images to create a village scene.
4. I coloured some the areas of the embossed image with black pen to add some contrast.
5. I trimmed the panel and adhered to a cream card base.
6. For the sentiment, I stamped the big sentiment directly on the panel in black.
7. The secondary sentiment is white heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock and adhered above the big sentiment.
8. Finally gold sequins to finish off the card.
I pretty much kept the colours warm and earthy on all three cards. Used distress inks to blend them. So here are a few more inspirations for this month's INKtober challenge. Hope you get creative and participate in the challenge.
