DIY Embellishments + Slider Card

Hello Everyone,

Zalak here today with some DIY embellishment for our current theme challenge #24. And a Rakshabandhan Slider Card.

As you all know making your own embellishment will be a kind brain storming situation, but it is more attractive and creative if we compare to what is available in market.

So, here I am sharing some Shaker tags (which is one of my favorite), Bookmark and Poinsettia flower. Without taking more time, let's see my first embellishment.

Embellishment 1: Shaker Tags

This shaker tags can be use in your cards, scrapbooks, bookmark, can be put as a thank you note or attach to your bag, purse etc.

Details:
  1. I started with die cutting the scalloped circle tag 5 times from white CS.
  2. Then for the base layer, I have die cut from brustro watercolor paper and did some blending with distress oxides, also splatter some water over it.
  3. While everything is drying, I stamped some critters and colored them with zig brush watercolor pens, and to give little shine I have used spectrum noir sparkle marker.
  4. Then I took my watercolor circle die cut and stamped sentiment. Once I am satisfied with the layout, I adhered those 5 layer die-cut, filled it with sequins and closed it with acetate sheet and one more layer of circle die cut.
  5. On finished tag, I have adhered my colored critters and also attach some jute twine.
Embellishment 2 : Bookmark Clips

I made this bookmark clips for all reader out there who loves reading. These clips are big enough to hold paper and also use as a page line too (if you stop reading a book in between a page).

Details:
  1. I started with big paper clip and watercolor paper.
  2. Stamped the flower with archival ink and with distress oxide, I stamped the layer stamps.
  3. Attached them with paper clip using hot glue gun and embellish it with jewels.
Embellishment 2: Poinsettia Flower

This flower is also known a as "Christmas Flower". This flower basically has 5 petals and pointed at the end. I am not a flower expert but I tried my best to use Cut3 die.

Details:
  1. I cut three big flower from red and yellow CS.
  2. Pointed its petals using scissor and using my fingers I pointed the petals more.
  3. Then layered them one upon other and attach some pollen and leaves.
Slider Card

As we know Rakhsabandhan is near by, all the girls are getting ready to buy rakhi for their brother. I always sent Rakhi and Card to my brothers as I am leaving away from my family and relatives. I like to make some interactive cards for theme to remember me on this occasion.

Details:
  1. I started stamping with distress oxides on a smooth white CS to create my own background.
  2. In between the background there were some space left so I stamped some stars with versamark ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.
  3. Using Slider Die, I die cut the sliding part at the bottom of my created background. I saved that die cut also as I have used it as a hiding message.
  4. I stamped both brother and sister on a watercolor CS and colored it with zig clean brush pens.
  5. Attached brother on a right end side of the sliding part and sister on a die-cut part (which was cut using slider die).
  6. Stamped the sentiment on a another white CS and attach in a way where you can see the message when you pull the strip.
  7. Attached the strip and hide the message. So when you pull the strip, it will look a like sister is walking towards brother to tie a rakhi and when you are sliding the strip, the message will revel.
  8. To complete my card I have adhered some jewels.
That's all for today everyone. I hope I have inspired you some or other way!! Share your views and suggestion in a comment box.
