Good Morning :)
Preeti Datta (aka Dutt Preety) here. Hope you've had a good week so far :)
For today's post, I've prepared 4 Clean & Simple (CAS) cards using Mudra's beautiful stamps. The general principle with CAS cards is to ensure a lot of white space in the card designs and not have any unnecessary elements, always keeping the focus & drawing the eye towards the focal element(s). Also, Mudra's Challenge #24 is on & the theme is "Make Your Own Embellishments", so I wanted to create some easy & fun embellishments for my CAS cards using stamps. So let's start.
1. CAS Card- Sending Hugs
Process:
1. Stamped the floral branch onto a die cut panel of watercolour paper using Mudra's Dainty Blooms II Stamp & Versafine Onyx Black Ink
2. Did watercoloring with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and created a drip effect & some splatters
3. Stamped the sentiment from the same set & foam mounted this panel onto an A2 sized white card base.
2. CAS Card- A Bond of Love
Process:
1. To create my own embellishments, I stamped the heart and cute birds onto wood slices using Mudra's Home Is Stamp & Jet Black Archival Ink. Then added highlights with a white gel pen
2. Scribbled on alcohol markers in 3 shades of pink/red onto a die cut panel to give an artsy ombre look.
3. Stamped the sentiment using Mudra's Brother & Sister Stamp.
4. Adhered the wood slices to the panel & matted it in black (keeping is slightly off centre for an interesting look) & then adhered this to an A2 sized kraft card base.
3. CAS Card- Happy Rakshabandhan
Process:
1. Created my own embellishment by stamping a flower from Mudra's Floral Silhouette Stamp onto cardstock using archival ink. Then cut it to the size of the glass dome & adhered it to the bottle cap. Used glossy accents to stick the glass dome on top of the bottle cap & to add a bit of color to this, used red alcohol ink on the dome.
2. Stamped the tilak & sentiment using Mudra's Rakhi Day Stamp onto a die cut panel.
3. Tied the traditional roli moli thread to the panel & taped it at the back. Then adhered the bottle cap to form the rakhi.
4. Finally, foam mounted the panel onto an A2 sized beige card base.
4. CAS Card with gifts
Process:
1. Stamped the tiny gifts onto small wood slices using Mudra's Brother & Sister Stamp & archival ink, then added a thin layer of glossy accents on them
2. Scribbled on 3 blue shades onto a die cut panel using alcohol markers
3. Wrapped a paper twine around the panel & tied a bow
4. Created white splatter onto an A2 sized kraft card base using watered down white gesso & then foam mounted the panel on it.
I didn't add a sentiment to this card because I felt it didn't need one. It can be used for any celebration like birthdays, christmas, graduation, anniversary etc.
