Stamps and Stencils with a New Twist

Hi! Nandini here. I hope you guys have been following the Mudra blog closely. There is so much fun happening right now with new releases and an exciting mega giveaway! And we have lots more in store!!

The challenge for June is exciting. Use your Mudra stamps and stencils and also use something new.

Card 1:
I love the Mudra stencils and we have recently added 10 more designs to our range. I used brush pens to colour through the stencil, a new technique for me.

  • Take some watercolour paper and die cut a panel.
  • Apply some temporary adhesive to the back of the stencil and let it dry. This makes it easier to keep the stencil in place.
  • Arrange the stencil on top of the panel. Apply colour with markers or brush through the stencil. You can use two colours for more depth.
  • Let the panel dry completely.
  • Cut a mat from turquoise paper and adhere it to a pink card base. Adhere the watercolour panel on top.
  • Take a strip of the turquoise paper and stamp the sentiment from the Floral Fantasy. Heat emboss with silver embossing powder and add to the panel with foam tape.
  • Add some Candy Pink sequins to finish.
Here is the close up of the water colouring.

Card 2:
I went back to my first ever stamp set by Mudra and one of my very favourites for the next card. I was looking for a more masculine card and this fit the bill perfectly.

  • Take some watercolour paper and die cut a panel.
  • Stamp the blooms from the Fantasy Florals on the panel. Heat emboss with glitter gold embossing powder.
  • Wet the panel and apply watercolours loosely for an artsy look. Let it dry completely.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Floral Fantasy stamp set on a piece of black cardstock and heat with the glitter gold embossing powder.
  • Trim the sentiment panel and mount it with foam tape.
  • Adhere the panel along with a black mat to a kraft card base.

Project 3:
Mudra has a range of some really gorgeous chipboards. These are really intricate and beautifully designed. I used one of them to create something special. This is the first time I am using the shaker chipboards.

  • Take the Ice Cream Shaker Chipzeb and colour the part of the base where the cone will be in shades of brown.
  • Adhere 5 layers of the chipzeb together to make the basic shaper.
  • Add Candy Pink, Radium Green and Yellow sequins to the ice cream part.
  • Adhere the die cut acetate and top with the final chipzeb. You can use this as a shaker element or embellishment.
  • I was initially planning to put this on a card. But my daughter loved it so much, she asked me to make it into a magnet.
I hope you liked my cards and are inspired to create something beautiful. Keep visiting us for more inspiration and to keep up with the fun. And don't forget to link your creations to our gallery. The theme this month is

Love,

Nandini
