Trio of Floral Mixed Media Cards

Hi Folks!
Good Morning :)

Preeti Datta (aka Dutt Preety) here. Hope you are doing well.

First up, have you checked out the 30, yes 30!! super cool new Chipzeb chipboard designs released this month by Mudra ? There is something for everyone! To view the release post, please click HERE

For today's post, I'd like to share a set of three Floral Mixed Media Cards which will be my inspiration for the current Mudra Challenge #20- "Floral & Texture". I've also prepared a pictorial for these cards. I've made paper flowers using Mudra's Cut3 dies & also stamped flowers. To add texture, I've applied modelling paste through Mudra's gorgeous stencils, created multiple layers & used the beautiful chipzeb chipboards. These are large sized cards (5 by 9 inches in size).

**This is a photo heavy post & I hope you'll stay with me till the end**

Here are some photos of the Floral Mixed Media Cards:

Card 1: Happy Birthday

Card 2: Best Wishes

Card 3: Thanks a Bunch

Pictorial: Step by Step Process

1. Applied Heavy White Gesso to watercolor paper (cut to 4.25 by 8.25 inches) to prep the surface of the 3 panels, then applied modelling paste through Mudra's Brick, Geo Pattern & Floral Abstract Stencils. For adding more texture, some black thread was also attached to the wet modelling paste.

2. Grey and black colors were added to the stenciled design using Lindy's sprays and then background stamping was done using various shades of grey and black archival inks. Mudra's Old Script, Pattern it 2, Go Confident, Rustic Diamond and Hexa Mini Stamps were used.

3. 3D paper flowers were made using Mudra's Cut3 Gardenia Dies, Dress My Craft Floral Oriental Papers & Groove Golf Tools. Archival inks were used to color the flowers and pollens were attached to their centers.

4. Flowers were stamped from Mudra's Doodled Elements, Wild Rose & Mehendika Stamps onto watercolor paper. Then colored using the Ink Smooshing Technique (Ink from Zig Markers was scribbled onto a non-stick mat, sprayed with water and the stamped images were smooshed onto it to create a splattery & textured colored look.) Then these were fussy cut.

5. Titles were prepared by stamping sentiments from Mudra's Purely Sentiments- Labelled Stamp & then cut into strips.

6. Leaves from Mudra's Gardenia Dies were colored using Lindys Sprays (with the same ink smooshing technique)

7. Butterflies were stamped using Mudra's Grungy Butterflies Stamp, then heat embossed and fussy cut

8. Grey and black paper mats were created for the panels (at increasing size intervals of 0.25 inches) and their edges were distressed to get a textured and weathered look

9. Some of the Chipzeb Chipboards (Victorian Circles, Victorian Rectangles, Elegant Frames & Mehendika) used here were colored black with black gesso

10. All the elements (3d flowers, leaves, stamped flowers, butterflies, Chipzeb chipboard, gauze, sisal, pollens & thread) were layered and 3 different designs/compositions were created for the cards. Some of the elements were adhered with liquid glue and others with 3d foam tape for added dimension.

11. As a finishing touch, to add sparkle, Mudra's Couture Sequins- Sugar Plum Mix & Clear were added to the cards using glossy accents. In the end, white splatter was created with watered down white gesso.
