Butterfly and Floral Cards!!

Hello friends, this is Kanan!! Hope you all are participating in Mudra's monthly challenge which is all about "Masking”.  Also remember that you can get your cards featured, if you tag your cards with #MudraCraftChallenge while sharing on any social media. Cant't wait to see your creations.

Today, I am sharing three cards which I have made using my most favorite Mudra Stamps.

First Card : -

  • On a watercolor panel I stamped the butterflies from "Beautiful Butterflies" stamp in various Memento ink.
  • While stamping each butterfly I first inked and then sprayed it very lightly with water and stamped directly on the panel.
  • I finally added the whole panel on a mint card base.
  • I added some splatters using gesso.
  • Lastly, added the sentiment from the "Labelled" stamp set.
  • The mint colored card base against those brightly colored butterfly looks really beautiful.
  • You can layer any colored card base with clean and simple design and it will turn out beautiful.
Second Card :-

  • I generally don't make one layer card and rarely do masking.
  • So for this card, I pushed myself to do what I don't do normally.
  • I masked the card base using some post it notes and stamped the pretty floral images from "Botanical Blooms" stamp set.
  • After removing the post it notes, I colored the edges of the stamped background using a very light shade of grey pencil. It was giving the effect of dimension.
  • I added the sentiment from the "Sentiment - In Circle"  set.
  • I splatter some gold paint and added some sequins.
  • There are so many ways to use the masking technique. I really liked this method. Hope you will give it a try this technique.

Third Card :-

  • I used my most favorite stamp set "Peony Love" by Mudra for this card.
  • Masked and stamped the floral image on a watercolor card base.
  • Water colored it using Zig Markers in all the bright shades.
  • Colored the background using Distress Ink.
  • Then, added the sentiment from the "Sentiment - In Circle"  set.
  • Finally, added some splatters using gesso.
  • You can achieve totally different look by masking few of your images.
