October Challenge #14

Hi there - it's Linda and Sathya here with you today, bringing you the October Challenge - Festive Colours.

(Use few colors seen here harmoniously with a touch of Gold to make any project for this challenge.)

Being that I (Linda) am a born and bred Aussie girl I have had to learn a little about Diwali for my card today and unfortunately I haven't got any of the gorgeous new release Diwali themed stamps in my hot little hands as some of you may already have. I hope you've checked them out as they are beautiful.

The girls from the Design Team encouraged me to create a celebration card using the colours Red/Yellow and Gold to fit the Diwali theme.

So here it is...

  • Stamp the sentiment across the centre of your card front in red ink using the 'Painted Alphas' stamp set.
  • Stamp leaves from the 'Fern and Leaves' stamp set around the edge of the card front in Versamark Ink and gold heat emboss.
  • Add Mudra's Yellow Sequins to complete the festive look.

  • The leaves in this beautiful stamp set really look gorgeous when heat embossed - very luxurious!

Card Inspirations by Sathya

Hi Friends,

Sathya here today with Diwali inspirations.

Before that, Few things about our Biggest Festival, Diwali. It literally means rows of lighted lamps. Every Indian celebrate this day with such joy. Its celebrated to mark the return of Lord Rama after 14 yrs of exile and his victory over Demon Ravana. On Diwali day, people put on new clothes, exchange sweets and savories, gifts, decorate homes, building, shops with earthen lamps, lights and burst crackers. Every year, every Indian will look upon this auspicious day with such joy and happiness.

Regarding today's cards, have used the recent Diwali releases and have come up with two simple cards for the current challenge.
