For boys and girls

Hi Everyone,

Mirella here. Happy Mother's Day to all (or any) Polish mothers who are reading this! :o)

Today I am sharing with you some boyish cards, and a cutesy shaker more suited for a girl. Let's dive into it!

CARDS 1 & 2 - For the boys

My first two cards are quite similar, and that's because they're birthday cards for two brothers. They're only two years apart, and they celebrate their birthdays together, because their special days are very close. I didn't want to make their cards too different, as they like to have similar things :o) Me being me, however - I simply couldn't make them identical...

1. I used Versamark ink on blue cardstock to create the background panel.
2. I then ran the panel through my die-cutting machine, to add some additional stitching detail.
3. I stamped and fussy cut one of the ninja images, and put a sword in his hand - this way, the sentiment goes better with the image.
4. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine black ink (I have to say, this sentiment makes me giggle).
5. I attached the ninja to the panel with a mini wobbler - he's really fun to play with, and I'm sure the recipient will love him, too.
6. I matted the panel on black cardstock, and adhered everything to a white top folding card base.

1. As you can see, the second card is very similar to the first one, however, I used a different focal image & a different die for the panel. I also changed the orientation to horizontal.
2. This time, I used a sentiment from the unicorn (Stay Magical) set --> I masked off "unicorn" at the time of inking the sentiment, and replaced the word with "Ninja" - I think it's pretty cool and fitting, isn't it?
3. The ninja's bike is wobbling merrily on the card. I love to use wobblers!

CARD 3 - A girly shaker

1. The colour scheme of this card was influenced by the Mudra sequin mix.
2. I die cut the front panel & inked it up with some Wilted Violet Distress Ink. Once I was done, I sprinkled it with some water for additional interest.
3. I stamped & coloured the unicorn, and added a background for him with some Copic Markers. In real life, both the grass and the sky are quite varied in colour/texture, but that somehow doesn't come across in the photos... I adhered some iridescent little hearts around the unicorn, to go in line with my chosen sentiment. I also added some Wink of Stella sparkle to the unicorn's mane and tail - no unicorn card should be made without sparkle, right?!
4. I stamped the sentiment on the smallest rectangle, previously coloured with Copics also.
5. I turned the middle rectangle into a shaker element, and used two of the gorgeous Mudra sequin mixes.
6. Finally, I adhered everything to a card base, backing the shaker panel with a lot of dimensional tape.
