Mudra Craft Stamps: Fun with New Ribbons and Stamps

Card 1:

One of the most exciting products in the July release is the dyeable ribbon. It is an amazing and unique product. I had to try it out and here is my card.

I decided to colour my ribbon with alcohol markers. I pulled out a bunch of them and cut my ribbon into small pieces – around 2½ inches long. Just a few swipes with the marker and I had a beautiful, evenly coloured ribbon! You can also use other mediums like distress inks, dye inks, sprays etc for colouring these ribbons. Now you can have matching ribbons for any project without having to keep loads of stock. Here is a closer look at them.

To assemble, I took a piece of cardstock trimmed to 2 x 5½ inches and adhered the ribbons to it. I trimmed off the excess and glued the panel to an ivory card base. The flowers are from the new Bloomy Days stamp set which is the latest layered set from Mudra. I love this set. It is beautiful and also very easy to line up. I stamped the flowers in shades of yellow and red and fussy cut them. I popped them up on some foam tape and adhered them to the card base. The sentiment is from the Carnations stamp set. I added a few clear couture sequins as the final touch.

Card 2:

I love layered floral stamp sets. And Mudra has some of the best! They are beautifully designed, easy to line up and easy on the pocket too! I decided to create a monochromatic card.

I took a piece of white cardstock and randomly stamped the images in shades of purple. I used the flower and leaf stamps. The small bud is from the Sweet Rose stamp set. The sentiment is from the Carnations stamp set. I stamped it and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

To finish, I trimmed the panel and adhered it to a purple card base. The sentiment panel is popped up foam tape for extra dimension.

Card 3:

Cherry Blossom is another new addition to the Mudra family. I love the delicate blooms on this stamp set. They would look beautiful coloured with watercolours or markers. I decided to make a more festive card.

I started with a panel of red cardstock and stamped the image a few times with embossing ink. I then added metallic silver, gold, and copper embossing powders. This is a very easy technique and always looks striking. Just add the powders one at a time to sections with a small spoon and pour off on a piece of scrap paper.

The sentiment is from the Christmas Decor stamp set. I stamped it with black pigment ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
