Mudra Craft Stamps: Artsy Techniques for Floral Cards

Hi! I am here today with some more inspiration for the current challenge - Floral Love. Flowers are probably the most favourite theme for cards. There are innumerable techniques for using your floral stamps. My cards today cover some of the more artsy ones.

Card 1:
All stamp sets have tiny stamps that are often overlooked. This card uses them to great effect.

Take a piece of white cardstock and draw a 3" x 3" grid with a pencil.
Use markers to colour in the squares, leaving a small gap around. I used pink, green and blue markers in light, medium and dark shades to create an ombre look.
Erase the grid lines.
Mount the stamps on small acrylic blocks and stamp with black ink. I used tiny stamps from Fairy Tale Wishes, Layered Peony, Simply Florals and Sweet Couple stamp sets. Here is the completed stamped panel.

Trim the panel and cut a slightly larger mat out of black paper.
Stamp the sentiment from the Wishing You stamp set. I masked off part of the sentiment with washi tape before inking and stamped with black ink.
Adhere black mat directly to the green card base. Add the stamped panel popped up on some foam tape.

Card 2:
The next card uses a simple and quick technique for a colourful look.

Take a piece of watercolour paper and stamp the large flower from the Carnation stamp set with waterproof black ink.
Place the stamp on an acrylic block, stamping side up. Place another block over it and dab with markers. The stamp below gives an idea for the right placement of the colours. You can make it as colourful as you wish.
Once the colours are added, spritz a few times with water. The more water you add, the more the colours will blend.
Press the inked stamp over the stamped image and stand for a few minutes to let the colour get absorbed by the paper.
Repeat the process if you want to add more colours. Let the panel dry. Here is a close look at the panel.

Die cut the panel with a stitched circle die. Also cut a larger mat out of black paper.
Lightly trace smaller circle die with a pencil on a grey card base. Add some white pigment ink around it with a finger dauber.
Stamp the sentiment from the Carnation stamp set with black ink.
Adhere the black mat and add the inked panel popped up on foam tape. Here is another look at the card.

Card 3:
Rainbows are always a fun theme, especially when combined with flowers.

Take a piece of white cardstock.
Blend Mai inks in the rainbow order with an oval make-up brush. I recently purchased a set of these and I have found them extremely helpful. Since they come in a variety of sizes, it is very easy to ink smaller areas as well.
To get green, I simply overlapped blue and yellow.
I stamped the blooms from the Carnation stamp set with black pigment ink and heat embossed with clear EP.
I used my Zigs and a blender pen to add some shading to the petals. I also added some grey around the images. Here is a closer look at the images.

Trim the panel and add it to a black card base popped up on some foam tape.
The sentiment is from the Dreams stamp set. I heat embossed it with sparkly gold embossing powder.
The sentiment strips are also popped up on foam tape.
