Mudra Craft Stamps: Quick Cards For Diwali

Hi! Diwali is right around the corner and all of us are busy getting ready to celebrate the festival of lights. The best part of Diwali is catching up with friends and family. And for those near and dear ones who live far away, a Diwali card is the next best thing. I always run short of cards to send. So today I have put together some super quick cards with minimal supplies and easy techniques. I have used the gorgeous Mudra stencils and stamps for all my cards.

Card 1:
Stencils and ink blending always gives beautiful results quickly.

Take a piece of ivory cardstock and the Optical Ray stencil.
Attach the stencil to the panel with washi tape and blend two colours of distress oxide ink through it.
Clean the stencil and flip it. Apply two more colours of distress oxide inks.
Trim the panel and adhere it to a dark brown card base.
The sentiment is from a very old set called Diwali Sentiments by Mudra. I heat embossed it with glitter gold EP and mounted on the card with foam tape.

Card 2:
Another card with stencils and ink blending.

The panel is made exactly like the previous panel, with the Optical Rays stencil and distress oxide inks.
Trim the panel to size with a stitched rectangle die and also trim a larger mat from some pink cardstock.
Mount the panel with the matting on a bright blue card base.
Stamp the sentiment from the Diwali Sentiment mini stamp set and heat emboss with pink and blue embossing powders.
Mount the sentiment strip with a pink mat on the card base.

Card 3:
A smart idea is to prepare a whole panel and then use it to make two cards.

Take a piece of cardstock and blend pink, orange and red distress oxide inks.
Cover with the Deco Pattern stencil and apply dark brown through it.
Die cut a window out of the panel and use it for another card.
Heat emboss the diya from the Diwali Decoratives set and the sentiment from the Deepavali set with a mix of pink embossing powders.
Cut a frame out of some light pink paper that is slightly smaller than the stencilled frame and adhere it to a dark brown card base.
Pop up the stencilled frame on top with some foam tape.
