Today Im sharing a canvas that goes up as an wall art in my studio .
The canvas is 8x10" and is primed with gesso .
Before I start with the creation most of the times I choose main elements that I need to go with the creation.
I decided to work with Geo angeles Stencil, Magnolia stamp set , chipzebs and paints .
I have used Geo angeles Stencil with texture paste to create these lovely textures around the base .
I have added Teal and Aqua chalk paints around the canvas to start with .
The base was left to dry overnight , Once I was satisfied with the colours on the base , I used ocean blue to create a center darker than the rest of the area. I have even distressed the canvas corners with blue distress paint to create a lovely mood .
The next step was to start with stamping on the canvas with black ink . I have used Geometric stories stamp set here to stamp unevenly. I have used fern and leaves stamps to cover the area where I decided the frame to go on the canvas .
While waiting for the base to dry , I stamped Magnolia stamp in two sets on my white cardstock and coloured them with zig watercolour . After fussy cutting out the colored images , I planned to use the stamp as a whole but something didn't feel right so I decided to used the creation by splitting it into two pieces as you can see in this creation.
I have been wanting to use this particular sentiment as the focal point of this creation as it does talk a lot to me . I stamped the sentiment from Together Forever and added it to the Victorian Frame Chipzeb .
The butterflies from the Butterfly flutters was stamped coloured and fussy cut to go on the canvas.
Once I placed the frame in the center of the canvas I started working around it. I have added
Fancy Flourish Chipzeb and stamped images to coordinate. The stamped images are stuck down with double sided foam tapes to create dimensions as I don't like them to lay flat on the canvas.
I have further added Harvest Mix – Couture Sequins , Tinytag #1 and heart chipzebs along with the Nested Square Chipzebs to cover the theme .
Here are the close ups of the canvas showing you the textures , splashes and dimensions created -
I truly love the way it fell in place for me and I can proudly say these are the few elements I always go for with when it comes for creating wall art !! This is all in all a new type of creation for me from the blend of chalk paint and distress paints to cover up the canvas, following a colour palette and the technique of using of stamps to completely embellish the creation is something I have done for the first time . The Magnolia stamp set and Victorian Frame chipzebs is also from the latest release . With so much new in this creation, hope it brings out a lot of freshness in you too as it has for me !!
Hope you like this Project of mine. Do participate and stay for a chance to win some Mudra products of your choice!
