Background Techniques for Cards

Hello Friends,

I'm Sharada Dilip from Happymomentzz bringing some more inspirations using Mudra's products for this brand new month.

1. Cheers - Masculine Birthday Card - Random stamping background

April is considered the Beer month in USA and hence I decided to create something for the Beer lovers !
  • For this card I decided to create my own background paper by randomly stamping the beer image from "Cheers" stamp set  onto a piece of white cardstock and leaving it uncoloured.
  • Here's a little behind the scenes on how my cards come together when I'm creating a stamped background. I usually practice stamping the design several times until I get the look I'm going for or a design that pleases my eye. Typically, I try to avoid stamping the same image next to itself. I also try not to stamp images in straight lines to help give the design a more random and free flowing feel.
  • After I finished creating my background, I cut a rectangle shape from black cardstock and stamped the sentiment onto it using Versamark Watermark Ink. I then heat embossed it with white embossing powder and added a mini wordings to follow . All the sentiment are from the Cheers stamp set .
  • I have added one beer stamped, coloured and fussy cut over the banner to complete the card .

2. Thinking of you - Watercolour background with shadow stamping

  • I have started with a A2 sized teal card base on which I have adhered the layers.
  • I have created second Card background on a watercolour panel with watercolours - yellow and pink giving me this lovely orange sheen.
  • Then I have randomly stamped flowers with black ink from a set of stamps "Persian Elements".
  • I have added Leaves from Leafy Swirls chipzeb as it is on the card
  • The sentiment is from "purely sentiments " stamp set .
  • To complete the card I have added pearls in teal to match the card base .

3. Fairytale tri fold card

I have created a fairyland with pattern papers and chipzebs here .

  • This is a 4"x4" Tri Fold card
  • For the cover I have used Tag chipzeb ,Fairy Tales chipzebs  and Words along with Beary Hugs pattern paper.
  • The  Fairy Tales chipzebs  is coloured and adhered here with double sized glue foam to create dimension.

That's all from me today, hope to have inspired you all to try these stuffs !
