Pastel Love

Hi! March is almost over and I am here today with the final dose of inspiration for our Tic Tac Toe challenge.

The tic-tac-toe grid is conceptualized by Sathya Kala Sankaran. You can select any row, column or diagonal line as your inspiration.

Card 1:

I used the diagonal - Banners, Birthday & Sentiments.

  • Take a piece of watercolor paper.
  • Stamp the bouquet from the Flower Bunch stamp set and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Do this all around the edges of the paper.
  • Blend distress oxide inks very heavily all over the paper.
  • Take a wet paint brush and run it over the stamped design. Blot away with a tissue. This reactivates the distress oxide ink and gives a lovely bleached look.
  • Die cut the panel to fit an A2 size card base.
  • Mount the panel on the white card base with foam tape.
  • The sentiment is from the Balloons stamp set. Ink it with multiple colors and stamp on a scrap of white card stock.
  • Diecut the sentiment panel with a banner die and adhere it to the card.

Card 2:
I again used the diagonal - Banners, Birthday & Sentiments.

  • Take a piece of watercolor paper. Stamp and heat emboss the bouquet from the Flower Bunch stamp set with gold embossing powder.
  • Colour the bouquet with distress inks. Let it dry completely and then adhere to the kraft card base.
  • Die cut a kraft panel to fit over a A2 size card. Also die cut a heart on the right hand side of the panel.
  • Run the panel through a texture plate.
  • For added interest sponge some sticky ink around the edge of the heart and heat emboss with the gold embossing powder.
  • Mount the panel on foam take and place it over the card base such that the bouquet peeks through.
  • The sentiment is from the Carnations stamp set. It is heat embossed with some glitter gold embossing powder.

Card 3:

For my last card I used the middle row - Lace, Birthday, Sequins.

  • Take a small piece of watercolour paper and stamp the butterfly from the Butterfly Flutters stamp set with black ink.
  • Use distress inks in rainbow colours to paint the butterfly.
  • Die cut the paper with a circle die.
  • Take a black panel and cut it slightly smaller than the card base. Score four lines along the bottom. Also round two of the corners.
  • Add a piece of white lace between the score lines.
  • The sentiment is from the Labelled Sentiments stamp set.
  • To finish pop the butterfly panel on some foam tape and adhere to the card. Add some Clear Couture Sequins.
