Hello,
This is Ujjwal, sharing some fun and festive tags today. Festival time is upon us and that means buying and packing gifts. Gift tags are a great way to add a personal touch to any gift.
I used a few different mini background stamps and Lotus stamp for the tags today. All supplies are listed towards the end of the post.
Also, this is a great example of how you can make festive looking cards and tags without using any occasion specific stamps.
My fail proof recipe is
- Add festive colors. Say, if you are making these for Indian Festivals, you can go with bright color combinations. If it's for Christmas, think red and green.
- Find stamps that might help you represent that particular culture, occasion or time of the year. For Indian festivals and occasions, images like Lotus, elephants, peacocks, etc work best. For Christmas, you could pick anything with snow, leaves, trees, etc
- Add a touch of gold because gold makes everything look festive.
The tags measure 4.25" X 3.35". I first randomly stamped the background with versamark ink and the heat embossed using Zing embossing powder. Next I blended the inks chosen for each tag using sponge daubers. I, then flicked some water onto the inked tags and set them aside to dry. I stamped the flowers using Archival Black ink and colored with oil pastels, blending the color with my finger and paper stumps. Then I fussy cut the flowers and adhered them to the tags using foam adhesive. As the final touch, I added the matching strings to the tags.
I hope you enjoy making your own festive tags for the upcoming festival season!

So pretty!! Love the tags. Very colorful and festive. One doubt mam what are paper stumps? Don't quite know what they are used for. (Newbie here) thanks :)
ReplyDeleteHey Preety, glad you liked the tags. Paper stumps are basically paper mache sticks to blend colors. They are actually made of paper. You can click on the link above to see how they look. I will try and put up a tutorial on these soon :)
