Trio of Interactive Cards

Hello everyone,

This is Zalak again, Back with some interactive cards. I love creating interactive cards, so I have three cards today to show you. All details will be there under each picture.

Let's go ahead and see all three cards together.

As you can in above pic, First card is "Magic Slider Card", Second is my all time favorite card "Shaker Card", and Third card is, actually I tried first time, it's "Tilt Action Card".

First card size is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" inches and rest both cards are standard size i.e. Base is 4 1/2" x 5 3/4" and panel over base card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" .

Some more brief details about all cards are as below:

Card 1 - Magic Slider Card

This card is very much interactive for kids as on top you see nothing like a black and white picture but when you pull out you can see all images are filled with colors, Like below picture.

Steps:

  • I love this stamp set "Hotair Balloon". For creating my card background, I took Brustro watercolor paper and die cut with largest die of rectangular die.
  • Next I took some cloud die-cuts, wilted violet and faded jeans distress oxide, and start putting die-cuts one by one and distress oxide ink and started distressing technique.
  • Now once my background is created, I took white texture cardstock and stamp "Hotair Balloon" stamp and for creating smaller size "Hotair Balloon", I just take a reference of the stamp and hand-drawn another hotair balloon.
  • Once all the stamping is done, I colored it with Steadler Watercolor Pencils and fuzzy cut all the stamp images.
  • I place my stamp images in a such a way so that small hotair balloon should look behind the bigger one.
  • To finish my card I stamp sentiment from same stamp set at bottom of the card background also decorated outer cover, I stamped cloud stamp over it and boarder die-cut from glitter sheet.

Some closer image of same card,

Card 2 - Shaker Card

For this card, I again used "Hotair Balloon" stamp set (I just love this one). The technique and color of stamp images are same as Card -1.

Card 3 - Tilt Action Card

Ok, So this is my first try and I loved the outcome. I have used "Whaley Love" stamp set. And the idea to create this card is some waves, starburst background and whale who go up and down in water.

Steps:
  • This card is very simple to assemble. I have die-cut brustro watercolor paper using rectangular die.
  • Using MUDRA Masking Sheet, I have created Starburst Stencil. First I have distress half of the paper using Lemonade distress ink and after that I placed starburst stencil and distress with spiced marmalade distress ink.
  • Next I stamped whale from "Whaley love" stamp set on a white texture cardstock and colored it with Steadler Color Pencil and fuzzy cut it.
  • I die-cut some different pattern of cloud dies and used it's negative part as a wave.
  • For the mechanism part I cut a strip of cardstock and placed at bottom of whale stamped image and both attached to a first wavy pattern (i.e. light blue) cardstock using small brad.
  • Now, take some strong adhesive and stick some heavy weight piece at bottom of strip ( Here, I have used 25 paisa coin).
  • Now, it's done. Place some more wavy die-cut on top of each other.
  • To finish my card, I have stamped sentiment and some sequins from MUDRA.

Here is the video of my cards, have a look.

I hope you all like my cards, Today is last day to submit your creations.

Guest Designer - Pooja

Hiya!!

Varshitha here with a amazing crafter, lovely soul, Pooja. I am so happy to see her back in this space.. Pooja is a versatile card maker with an unique style, she uses stamp set to the best possibilities

Over to Pooja....

“ Hello Friends , Pooja here from Reusing ,Card & Quilling . I am so Happy to Guest Design for Mudra Craft Stamps ! Thanks to Varshitha and the Mudra team for giving me this opportunity.

Let’s get started

I loved the Humming Bird set ever since I received it but didn’t use it much .This was a perfect time to get the stamp out .For the background I did lots of masking and stamping for the fuschia flowers. I wanted the bg to be light so I stamped with light grey ink and colored with watercolor brush pens.

The humming birds in this set are so cute. I stamped one of them on water color paper. Colored and fussy cut it. I wanted the card to be one layered so, glued it directly on the card base. I Stamped part of sentiment from Special Birthday set and finished off with few sequins.

One layered card again!  I was aiming for the watercolor print look for this card. Used the most favorite and beautiful Dainty Flowers set. Started by roughly drawing a square frame and stamped the sentiment from Special Birthday set I tweaked it a bit to suit a couple ;)

Stamped flowers and leaves with masking .Then water colored the flowers, leaves and the frame loosely. Few sequins and splatters to finish the card.

Next card is based on current challenge. It’s a Spinning wheel card. I stamped the sentiment and butterflies from the Butterfly Layers set on a card panel and fussy cut three butterflies, then stamped them again on acetate sheet and adhered on back of the card panel. The spinning wheel is colored in rainbow colors. Splatters and sequins again...

You can see different colored butterflies as you spin the wheel

Lets open it,

Some more butterflies using simple pop-up mechanism.

Here comes the last card. I have used pattern papers from Papericious. The fuschia flowers are stamped on watercolor paper. Then I fussy cut the panel and adhered on the card base. The sentiment is from Sentiment Essentials set and is heat embossed on vellum.

Pull the side and  pop comes the butterfly! It’s a wiper card.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post today and I have inspired you to make some interactive cards and play along the Current Challenge :)”.

WOW! I am sure you all enjoyed seeing the brilliant creations by Pooja. Such a beautiful watercoloring, the color combinations are uber cool!! Thank you Pooja for such a Inspiring post.

Floral Extravaganza & a Non Traditional Rakhi Card

Hello Everyone!! Indira here again today with 3 cards. Two of them are out and out floral cards while one is a very Non Traditional Rakhi Card since I did not have any Rakhi stamps.

Card no.1 - Floral Double Gatefold Card

1. Prepared the Double Gatefold card base with a cream colored diamond texture CS.
2. Made the belly band with same paper and created the base for the flowers, using die cuts.
3. Stamped the flowers, leaves and fussy cut them.
4. Arranged them on belly band and added few sequins.
5. Took another die cut and stamped sentiment on it.
6. Made a pocket to hold the tags for messages.

This is how the card looks when the belly band is removed and it is opened.

A close-up of the floral arrangement.

Card No. 2 - Floral Bouquet Birthday Card

1. Stamped and masked the flowers.
2. Masked all the flowers and inked the background with stencil.
3. Added the foliage around the floral bouquet.
4. Stamped the sentiment.
5. Added few sequins.

Three Floral Cards!!

Hello friends!! This is Kanan and today I have few floral cards to share with you.

Let's get started.

First Card -

  • Used one of the border stamp from "Build a Ribbon" set. Used Distress ink and sprayed some water and stamped directly on a card base.
  • Stamped few flowers and leaves from "Botanical Blooms" set.
  • Arranged everything on the card base.
  • The sentiment is from the "Frames and Fills#1" set.
  • Lastly, added some matching gems.
  • Love how those pink and orange with pop of blue goes so well with each other.
Second Card -

  • Cut few ruffled strips from a floral patterned paper.
  • Adhered it on a card base.
  • I chose the pretty flower from one of my favorite Mudra Stamp "Peony Love" set.
  • I wanted to keep it simple so chose a green ink which was matching with the patterned paper color and stamped the flower. I did not color the flower.
  • The sentiment is from "Simply Florals"
  • Those ruffled stripes adds so much of interest and dimension to this card, you don't have to always color the images.
Third Card -

  • For this card I used a fun technique.
  • Took some ink (I used few shades of Distress inks and Memento ink) from the ink pad on a acrylic block and used baby wipe to lift it up from the block and applied it on a card stock.
  • After the inks were dried I stamped the flower and leaf image from the "Geometric Nature" set.
  • I inked a card panel using Distress ink and sprinkled some water.
  • Adhered all the images on it.
  • The sentiment is from "Universal Love"
  • Love how this card turned out and how those color look together with that cool effect.

Hope you will like my cards. If you have any questions or suggestions, please leave a comment.
