Magic of the Mighty Mini Stamp Sets

Hi! Nandini here with some inspiration for the current Mudra challenge - Stretch your Stamps. All of us love our craft supplies. Every month there are new releases and new stamps to fall in love with. Unfortunately, we cannot buy everything we like. Also, new crafters are often intimidated by the cost of supplies. Mudra's small stamps are the perfect answer to this. These 3 x 2  stamp sets pack quite a punch! They are very high quality and very pocket-friendly. They come in a whole range of designs and the new release has a multi-layering set as well!

I have concentrated on these cute little sets as my inspiration.

Card 1:

I created a background with my small stamp and then used the bleaching technique.

  • Take a cream coloured paper and use the Barbed Wires stamp repeatedly with brown and yellow ink. This set is super easy to line up.
  • Stamp the flower cluster from the Fresh Cut Roses stamp set with brown ink. Stamp again with embossing ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. This creates a good outline for the next step.
  • Use regular household bleach to "paint' the flower cluster. This will leach out the colour leaving behind a light area. The strength of bleaching depends on the quantity and quality of bleach used. Mine is quite old. So the ink did not leach out completely.
  • Trim the panel and mount it on a dark brown card base.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Balloons stamp set with embossing ink on a scrap of dark brown paper and heat emboss with vanilla embossing powder.
  • Trim and mount with foam tape on the card.
Here is a closeup of the card.

Card 2:

Small stamps can also be used to create your own pattern paper.

  • Take a plain piece of paper and stamp the Hexa stamp with green ink. This set is also quite easy to line up.
  • Stamp again with blue ink, offsetting the stamp slightly. Do this only in a part of the paper.
  • Cut the flowers out of this 'pattern paper' with the Gardenia dies
  • Cut the leaves out from green paper and stamp with the Barbed Wire stamp set for added texture.
  • Stamp the Blooms Within set with teal ink on cream paper. Adhere this panel to a teal card base.
  • Die cut a frame out of a darker shade of teal and add it over the sentiment panel with some foam tape.
  • Shape the flowers and leaves and adhere to the frame.
  • To finish add Harvest Mix sequins to the flower centres.

Card 3:

For my last card, I created a rich background combining gold embossing and red card base.

  • Take a panel of red cardstock. Stamp the lovely cluster from the Rose Bud stamp set with embossing ink. Heat emboss with gold embossing powder.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Floral Fantasy stamp set on a piece of red cardstock and heat emboss with glitter gold embossing powder.
  • Take a scrap piece of paper and cover it with gold heat embossing. Adhere this towards the top of the card base.
  • Die cut the panels and pop them up on some foam tape making sure the gold embossing shows evenly between the two panels.
Here is a close up of the card.
