Pastel Love

Hi! March is almost over and I am here today with the final dose of inspiration for our Tic Tac Toe challenge.

The tic-tac-toe grid is conceptualized by Sathya Kala Sankaran. You can select any row, column or diagonal line as your inspiration.

Card 1:

I used the diagonal - Banners, Birthday & Sentiments.

  • Take a piece of watercolor paper.
  • Stamp the bouquet from the Flower Bunch stamp set and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Do this all around the edges of the paper.
  • Blend distress oxide inks very heavily all over the paper.
  • Take a wet paint brush and run it over the stamped design. Blot away with a tissue. This reactivates the distress oxide ink and gives a lovely bleached look.
  • Die cut the panel to fit an A2 size card base.
  • Mount the panel on the white card base with foam tape.
  • The sentiment is from the Balloons stamp set. Ink it with multiple colors and stamp on a scrap of white card stock.
  • Diecut the sentiment panel with a banner die and adhere it to the card.

Card 2:
I again used the diagonal - Banners, Birthday & Sentiments.

  • Take a piece of watercolor paper. Stamp and heat emboss the bouquet from the Flower Bunch stamp set with gold embossing powder.
  • Colour the bouquet with distress inks. Let it dry completely and then adhere to the kraft card base.
  • Die cut a kraft panel to fit over a A2 size card. Also die cut a heart on the right hand side of the panel.
  • Run the panel through a texture plate.
  • For added interest sponge some sticky ink around the edge of the heart and heat emboss with the gold embossing powder.
  • Mount the panel on foam take and place it over the card base such that the bouquet peeks through.
  • The sentiment is from the Carnations stamp set. It is heat embossed with some glitter gold embossing powder.

Card 3:

For my last card I used the middle row - Lace, Birthday, Sequins.

  • Take a small piece of watercolour paper and stamp the butterfly from the Butterfly Flutters stamp set with black ink.
  • Use distress inks in rainbow colours to paint the butterfly.
  • Die cut the paper with a circle die.
  • Take a black panel and cut it slightly smaller than the card base. Score four lines along the bottom. Also round two of the corners.
  • Add a piece of white lace between the score lines.
  • The sentiment is from the Labelled Sentiments stamp set.
  • To finish pop the butterfly panel on some foam tape and adhere to the card. Add some Clear Couture Sequins.

Cute Celebration Cards

Hi Folks!
Good Morning :)

Preeti Datta (aka Dutt Preety) here. Hope you are doing well.

As you know, Mudra is celebrating it's birthday this month & there are fun giveaways for everyone! So please do join in for your chance to win awesome prizes !!

For today's post, I have created 5 Cute Celebration Cards. We all need a constant supply of cards for happy events like birthdays, anniversaries, graduations etc. Hence, I tried to make some simple cards with neutral sentiments like "happy", "wishing you happiness" & "hugs" so they could be used, as & when required. I used the adorable bear images from Mudra's Beary Hugs Paper Pack as focal images for these cards.

Here are some photos of the cards:

Card 1: Hugs

Card 2: Happy

Card 3: Happy Birthday (CAS Style)

Card 4: Wishing You Happiness...

Card 5: Make a Wish

Process Used for All the Cards:

1. Fussy cut some cute bear images from Mudra's Beary Hugs Paper Pack- these were the focal images for the cards
2. Die cut some of the pattern papers (in matching colors) from Mudra's Beary Hugs Paper Pack into basic shapes like circles, rounded & scalloped rectangles, hearts etc- these were for layering
3. Distressed the edges of all the die cuts with distress inks & distress oxides.
4. For each card, I assembled the components into a visually pleasing composition & then adhered the elements with liquid glue and some with 3D foam tape (to add dimension) to the A2 size card bases (4.25 by 5.5 inches)
5. For the sentiments, for 3 of the cards, I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink using Mudra Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies, Floral Fantasy & Mixed Greetings. And for 2 of the cards, I heat embossed Mudra Chipzeb's: Words 1 & Fairytales Unicorn in black.
6. In the end, embellished the cards, with Mudra's Couture Sequins: Clear, Sugar Plum Mix, Harvest Mix & Yellow, adhering them with Glossy Accents.

Mudra Fun

Hi Mudra fans I am back with a collection of Mudra using various goodies available in the Mudra store.  I hope you enjoy my post and thanks so much for stopping by!

Explosion Box

  • First cut your Beary Hugs patterned paper to 4x4 which will cover each of the panels on the explosion box.  To create a nice offsetting look I used opposing colors from the paper collection.  The pink outside with the fun bright yellow, with brown and teal.

What is nice about the paper is it has a nice thickness to it.  I am a big fussy-cut person so it is important to me that paper can withstand being fussy cut and not wilt over.  I added some gloss to my balloons to create a diecut sticker and glued it to the panel behind my centerpiece.

  • To create the cake I simply cut 1" in strips glue the ends to form a circle and used a die to make the cake top.  I then added a cluster of flowers for my cake topper.

  • I wanted an illusion of my bear standing presenting the birthday cake so I fussy cut him form the sheet and glued it to the cake itself as if he was standing.

  • For my box top I used the elegant frames chipzeb and fussy cut my bear from the sheet of patterned paper and added some flowers to finish it off.

  • Then I added a chipzeb "happy" sentiment to him so he is saying 2nd Happy Birthday Mudra!

Distress Polygon Fairytale Wishes Card

Use your Mudra stencils to create your own fun background .  I created this card using the Fairytale Wishes stamp set and added a chipzeb sentiment.  To create:

  • First you need to take some watercolor paper and lay it down and put your polygon stencil over the top.  It is best to apply some masking tape to the edges so the stencil stays in place and gives you a nice clean look.  For my background I used Salty Ocean & Fossilized Amber oxide inks to color with.

  • Once done adhere your background piece to matching cardstock which helps bring out the color and details of the stencil.

  • For my fairy I stamped her on blending paper and colored her using copic markers with matching colors to blend with my stencil background.  I wanted to add some glitter to her wings because you can't have a fairy without sparkly wings right?!!

  • For my sentiment I used "beautiful" sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies Chipzeb set and sponged on coordinating ink to complete and finish the look.

Rangoli Chipzeb Card

I made a card using the butterfly chipzeb as my focal point.  These piece are very sturdy almost like wood so you can add so many elements you can distress, emboss, ink and so much more and the piece will not change shape and the material allows inks to soak into.  You may need to heat set a bit so it does not smear but the outcome is perfect.

  • Take your watercolor paper and the Rangoli stencil and apply masking tape to edges so the stencil does not move.  Use your dauber to ink on your chosen colors.

  • Adhere your Chipzeb Butterfly to the center and for the outline of my butterfly I applied some Delicata black shimmer ink and heat set it so it soaked into the wood piece which helps to prevent smearing.  I really love how well the wood takes on color and holds it.

3.  Stamp your Purely Sentiment Labelled  sentiment and adhere it to you card front for a complete look.  I used "Happy Birthday" which is perfect for the Mudra's birthday!

This is the completion of my project for this month... now on to the fun stuff:
