Background using Stencils

Hello Everyone,

I hope you have enjoyed Christmas and stated planning for new year. Before going thru my cards let me wish you "A Very Happy New Year". Make your New Year wishlist with full of crafty goodies, new projects, learn some new techniques, inspire, follow some new crafty friends and many more.

I love working with Distress Inks, and today I have used three stencils and distress inks to make some quick and last minute cards.

1. Tik Tok Tik Tok

So, As you all can see this is a very simple card. Let's go thru some brief info:

  • I have started with watercolor paper and took a stencil, placed on a left corner and started blending with mustard seed distress oxide ink.
  • Then made clock hand with vintage photo and black soot distress inks,
  • Stamped sentiment on a right corner.
  • To finish my card,I have splattered gold acrylic color and some sequins.

2. Die- cut sentiment and Stenciled Background

With right choice of distress ink color, a simple card looks elegant. Some brief info:
  • Take Stencil, distress inks, watercolor CS and blending tools.
  • Place your stencil first on top and blend with two different color ( One should be bright and another should be light).
  • Start blending. I have start with squeezed lemonade and then abandoned coral.
  • Once the background is drying, I have die-cut "thanks" die from Gold CS.
  • Stamped sentiment, adhered die cut piece and finish my card with some coordinating sequins.

3. Best Friends

Brief info:

  • I have created background with stencil and distress ink (squeezed lemonade and vintage photo).
  • Stamped cute teddy bear on watercolor CS and colored it with distress inks. Also gave some shimmer using spectrom noir marker and  Fussy Cut it.
  • Stamped grass at bottom of the card and colored it with zig clean brush markers.
  • Adhered teddy bear and fence on the watercolor CS.
  • finished card with stamped sentiment and sequins.

That's all from me today. I hope I have inspired you, Before ending once again "Have a Great Year Ahead".

I would love to see your creations in our ongoing challenge HERE.
