Hello Friends!! This is Kanan.
A little bit about me.
I am from Mumbai, India and at present, I live in Indiana, USA with my husband and two year old daughter. Growing up I have always been fascinated by craft and art work. It wasn't until I got connected with craft community that I kindled my interest in card making. And, since then I am following it with my heart and soul. I am super excited about joining this fabulous team of crafters. Thank you, Varshitha and Sathya for giving me this wonderful opportunity. :-)
Let’s begin with my cards.
I have made total five cards plus a video tutorial for today’s post. I hope you will enjoy my creations
and get inspired.
First card :
- I took a slightly smaller card base then A2 and adhere the patterned paper which was already having text related to spring season but the text on the patterned paper were looking bit bold to me, so I added one layer of gesso on it for a little less brighter look.
- After that I stamped the beautiful layered floral images from “Botanical Blooms” separately in various shades of Memento inks and Distress inks. And then I fussy cut them.
- I adhered the floral images and created a wreath on the card base.
- After that I splattered some gold acrylic paint on the card base
- Finally added sentiment from “Purely Sentiment – Labeled” set.
Love the bright colors and Mixed-Media look of this card.
Second card:
- This is a little tiny card then usual (3.5" x 4") . I inked the top portion of the card using Distress inks.
- I separately stamped the house from the “Home Is” set and colored it using Faber Castell’s Polychromos pencils.
- After that I adhered a patterned paper on the bottom portion of the card base.
- I stamped the “Home” word from the sentiment on the card base and rest of the sentiment I white embossed on a black strip.
- I fussy cut the house and adhered it on the card base.
- Also stamped hearts from the same set on the card base and colored it with pencils.
- Finally added stickles on the hearts.
I love the bright colors on this card.
- For this card I adhered a patterned paper on a 4.5" x 6" card base.
- After that I free hand cut some hexagon shapes in few different sizes.
- Stamped the adorable images from “Hip Hip Hippo” set on to each hexagon
- After that I colored the images using Polychromos colored pencils.
- I finally added this glossy strip to embellish the card and adhere all the hexagon on card base.
I love the simple yet bright colors on this card.
- On a water color paper I stamped one of the floral image from the “Peony Love” set using masking.
- After that I colored it using Distress inks.
- I cut the whole image leaving the straight lines on all three sides, top, left and right side and stuck the whole panel directly on a grey card stock which I splattered with gesso.
- The sentiment is from "Brushed" stamp set.
- Finally added some sequins.
Love the bright colors against that gesso background,
specially on grey colored card base.
Fifth card + Video :
I made this card keeping in my mind the current challenge. I have made my own patterned paper using “Brushed Alphas” and also showed you the fun and easy reverse stamping technique in my video.
