'Tis the Season :)

Hiya Friends!!

Sathya here back again with few Christmas Inspirations. To me, its the season filled with merry and joy, as the year end days are headed towards a whole new start of an year and its thoughts :)

DT teamies are filling up this blog with beautiful inspirations and to add up a little, i have come with 5 inspirations using Xmas stamps.

Let's start!!

First up is the card to bring the festive mood with the traditional red and gold, and all those snowflakes to remind the frosty snow.

  • Took a watercolor paper and stamped snowflakes from Christmas decors on the edges around the card and white heat embossed it.
  • Then the baubles are stamped and gold heat embossed.
  • Reindeer too is stamped centrally and heat set with gold embossing.
  • Sentiment too from same stampset is gold heat embossed.
  • Then the whole panel is distressed heavily with Barn door Distress ink.
  • Then came the fun part of smooshing versamark ink pad directly on the edges of the panel and sprinkled white embossing powder and heat set it.
  • And its then mounted on a A2 sized Metallic Gold card base.
Second card is one of my favorite Smooshing technique.

  • Took a watercolor cardstock.
  • Stamped the sentiment from Christmas stampset all over the panel in an offsetting fashion and one centrally at the end. All were white heat embossed.
  • Took Evergreen bough and Cracked pistachio distress inks on a acrylic film and spritzed water and smooshed it straight on the focal panel.
  • It gave a fun pattern.
  • The christmas tree from Jinglebells stampset is stamped onto vellum using colorbox green pigment inks in 2 shades and UTEE clear embossed. (Hint: No need to own vary many embossing powders, use pigment inks and clear emboss it, to get a similar effect)
  • The embossed vellum is fussy cut and mounted on the card centrally.
  • This panel, then mounted on the mint green A2 sized cardbase.
Third is a Tag card.

  • Took a Xmas themed designer cardstock and top fold it and topped it with a Tag from another designer cardstock.
  • Elf from Santa's friends stampset is stamped and colored using Zigcleancolor brush pens.
  • Sentiment is from same stampset is stamped on a smallest tag and tucked under the Elf image.
  • Red Baker's twine is added with a bow on top to finish off the card.
Fourth card is my fave, cityscape card.

  • Absolutely i love sponging and blending distress inks and this is one such example of it.
  • Took watercolor card, the distress inks are sponged in a series : Broken china, Tumbled glass, salty ocean.
  • Then the sentiment from Christmas stampset and white heat embossed it.
  • I just sprinkled the white embossing powder at a distance (without using antistatic pouch or versamark inkpad) and just heat set it. (Due to the distress inks sponging, it was kept in place, while i heat set it!)
  • Sponged antique linen distressink on the edges of cityscape die and added just below the sentiment.
  • To mimic the snowbank, applied Prima Lightpaste on the diecut and Sprinkled Stampendous White Jewel Kit chunky embossing powder and heat set it.
  • "Merry christma"s is stamped using Black archival ink on the bottom portion of the panel.
  • Then the focal panel is mounted on to the darkblue A2 sized cardbase.
Xmas Mixedmedia Canvas:

Its been a while, since i did some MM canvas and so little addition to the cards, this time :)

  • I prepped the base of the canvas using several layers of  tissue for the textures.
  • Applied Metallic blueberry gelatos on the surface and using wet wipe, spread it across.
  • Added Drips of gluegun at the top of canvas and white heat embossed and  then added perfect pearls on top of it.
  • The central of the canvas is stenciled with Geopattern stencil and misted with LSG sprays.
  • Then the focal sentiment is stamped on printed vellum, layered with cheescloth, Poinsettia, diecuts, satin ribbon, chipboards, Prima silver mica flakes, artstones etc.,
  • A whimsical christmas tree is silver heat embossed and misted green using LGS spray, fussy cut and added near the focal element.
  • Snowflakes are stamped randomly around the canvas at the edges.
  • Added an acrylic pollen on the poinsettia and thus finishes this canvas.
Hope you liked the inspirations here today. Would love to see your comments :)
