New Mudra Creative Team Member- Hussena

Hi Friends,

Let’s welcome our new creative team member Husenna, She blogs at Quill and Punch Works. She makes beautiful cards, and has an unique style in adding colors and layers. Her works speaks more than my intro, so let's go directly to her post!!!

Here you go Hussena....

"Hello Friends,
This is Hussena here from the blog Quill and Punch Works and I am super excited to be a part of the Mudra team. I absolutely love their stamps for its fine quality and the crisp stamping and also the amazing designs they have been coming up with time and again.

Today, I am showcasing  two of their very popular stamp sets Botanical Blooms and Wild Florals. I have about four cards to share using these stamp sets and I hope you enjoy seeing the inspiration :)

Here's a look at my cards. I will showcase each card and give the step by step procedure for it below.

Stamp Highlight : Botanical Blooms

Card 1

Procedure :
  • Take a piece of white cardstock measuring 4 1/4 inches by 5 and a 1/2 inches.  Next, take a piece of another cardstock and die-cut a frame a 1/4 of an inch smaller than your card base.
  • Take a clock die-cut and adhere it to the side of the card as shown.
  • Stamp the flowers and leaves according to the layering chart in ink colors of your choice and fussy-cut them.
  • Arrange your floral cluster like shown or on any given pattern of your choice. Highlight the stamped image with some black acrylic paint splatters on the side.
  • To add more interest to the card, add bits of Washi tape in balance to your floral arrangement so that it is visually appealing to the eye.
  • Finally, stamp and heat emboss your sentiment in Gold.

Card 2

Procedure :
  • Take a folded A2 piece of black cardstock.
  • Die-cut a card front panel using a frame die of your choice. Make sure it is atleast 1/4 inch smaller than your card base.
  • Stamp the flowers and leaves from the Botanical Blooms set. Since this is a layering set, it would be a good idea to invest in some color coordinated layering ink sets available as they will make the work easier for you. You will just have to stamp each layer without thinking much about the final colours.
  • Using the clock die, I have dry embossed the card panel using a Embossing Tan Mat to create my focal.
  • Fussy-cut the flowers and the foliage and arrange them around this embossed area.
  • You can pop up the flowers and leaves on foam dots for added dimension on your card. Add some color coordinated ink spatters on the card front.
  • Finish off the card with some sequins to give some sparkle and shine.
  • Finally add the sentiment for your card. I have used the sentiment from the Mudra- On your Special Day set.

Card 3

Procedure :
  • Take a folded A2 piece of White cardstock.
  • Die-cut a card panel measuring a 1/4 of an inch smaller than your card base.
  • Punch out/die-cut black circles measuring about 1/2 an inch in diameter. Pop it on foam dots and adhere them on the card panel on equal intervals to create a geometric pattern on your background.
  • Stamp and heat emboss flowers & leaves from the Wild Florals set on a watercolor paper.
  • Color your flowers and leaves using any medium of your choice. I have used Distress inks to color the flowers and foliage.
  • After the colours have dried, fussy-cut your images and foam mount them using double sided foam tape or foam dots.
  • Arrange the florals against your background in any pattern you want which seems visually appealing.
  • Stamp a sentiment on a small piece of cardstock making sure the cardstock strip covers the entire card front.
  • Die-cut it or hand cut it after you have stamped your sentiment on it and adhere it on your background.
  • I have colored the edges of the card base using the same colours of Distress inks to match with my flowers so that it all ties in together.

Card 4

Procedure :
  • Take a folded A2 piece of White cardstock.
  • Die-cut a card panel measuring a 1/4 of an inch smaller than your card base.
  • Create a background using texture paste and stencil on your card panel.
  • Using a black acrylic paint and a small paint brush, spatter it on your card panel to create interest.
  • Stamp and clear heat emboss flowers & leaves from the Wild Florals set on a watercolor paper.
  • Color your flowers and leaves using any medium of your choice. I have used Distress inks to color the flowers and foliage.
  • I have arranged the floral cluster on foam dots against the textured background.
  • Stamp the sentiment and hand-cut it before popping it on foam dots.
  • Finish it off by adding some clear sequins for added interest.
