Hello dear friends,
Riswana here with you today. Hope you are enjoying & getting inspired by the awesome array of posts by my teamies :)
Today I'll be sharing a different project than usual.. How to make your own embellishments using stamps and also a very basic tutorial on how to make a shaker element as it might be helpful to beginners.
Here's the shaker "watch" I've made ;)
Begin by stamping the watch image from the "Dad" stampset on a piece of cardstock with black dye ink & fussy cut it.
This is going to be our base. You can make as many as you need and make them look different like I'll be showing later on.
Adhere some plain white tissue paper with diluted white glue on the strap area. It's better to use a old paint brush so as to create more wrinkles & textures.Once it is completely dry, Color with any medium of your choice.
Make a slit in the center of the dial area and cut it out. Heat emboss the rim area around the empty space with platinum embossing powder.
Stick a piece of transparent sheet on the 'back' side of the watch covering the space.
Now add a layer of foam tape on top of it around the rim.
The trick here is to peel off the backing sheet of the foam tape so that you can manoeuvre it easily to form a circle.
Place tiny beads inside the foam circle. On a co ordinating pattern paper, Heat emboss the dial image with platinum embossing powder & fussy cut it. Make sure it is slightly larger than the dial and place it on the foam adhesive to cover up the whole shaker element.
There you go, a cute shaker watch :)
A worn out style watch
For this, I colored the textured strap area (with tissue paper) using black inks, added a thick coat of Distress clear rock candy crackle medium.
After it dried, smeared white pigment ink on top & sealed with gel medium. I absolutely loved the textures.!
A retro style watch,
I colored the textured strap with vintage photo DI & versa color Champagne inks. I heat embossed the center piece in gold on a pattern paper.
Added glossy accents in the center to look like the old watches with a dome.!
For this one, i used pattern paper for the strap & dial. Colored the rim with black & gold gel pens & added glossy accents on top.
Super simple chic style watch,
I colored the strap with Zig clean color Real brush pens, paper pieced the center with the beautiful prima epiphany PP & added wink of stella clear glitter. The shimmer is more gorgeous in person.
Oh yeah I used the back of a paintbrush to curve the strap a bit which adds to the dimensional look. Here's a round up of all of them.
I wish I could wear them all & that they were working, greedy me :D You can use them in a variety of projects like scrapbooks, layouts, cards etc. Well, I decided to make these bunch of ATCs with them.
I've used layering stencils & decoupage napkins for the background & added some lace & gauze cloth to finish off the ATCs.
Am sorry but this super lengthy post is not over yet :P It's Father's day and I wanted to share a card as well, using this gorgeous stampset & also the very beautiful "wild florals" stampset designed by Ruchi :)
I painted the bg with distress inks (salty ocean, broken china, shabby shutters, mowed lawn) on Brustro watercolor paper.
Went around the edges with tea dye & vintage photo DIs.
Stamped the flourishes with memento summer sky ink on the blue area. Did "repeat stamping" with the "your love is timeless" sentiment stamp to add some text elements..
For the focal point, I stamped the flowers & leaves from wild florals stampset on the watercolor paper.
Colored the blooms using distress inks (fired brick, black soot) & gelatos (cherry red, lime) Stuck the elements & sentiment using foam squares.
Hope you liked my projects.
