DreamCatcher - Mixed Media Canvas with Tutorial

Hi CraftyPeeps!

Its me Sathya again, with April Release Stampsets and its inspirations :)

Hope you are enjoying Awesome Inspirations from our amazingly talented CTs so far, to add in my bit, have come with...Yet another Mixed media canvas with tutorial :)
(Hope you are not bored off from my amateurish attempts!!)

DreamCatcher...One of my favorite stampset of this time release. Who wouldn't have loved this. Such care taken for designing and equal efforts taken for its manufacture and packing...Oh yeah..its with such smallest detailed stamps...See it in real, to believe it!! You will sure be amazed!

Love to make a Dreamcatcher and so this miniature with 3D look attempt. Yes absolutely its 1 single piece to hang on, which i hotglued here, for extra strength.

Took 5x7" inch canvas.
Pic1 : Shows prepped canvas with tissues on one side diagonally.
Pic2: And for further textures, added medical gauze and gave whole canvas, a thick coat of White Gesso.

Pic 3: Applied Gelatos such as Metallic Mint, Metallic Grape, Metallic Blueberry, Metallic pink in a way i wished for and with misted fingers, rubbed the canvas on the texturous surface to reveal the lovely underlying textures.

Pic 4: On other side, Metallic melon color is applied and its swipped across using a wet wipe and it leaves a lovely pattern on the canvas. (Zoom in to a have a look!)

Allow it to dry and On the other hand, took the dreamcatcher stamp and stamped those on Kraft cardstock using Black Archival ink and fussy cut everything. Feathers are stamped using same ink on vellum and fussy cut it.

Everything is heat embossed with UTEE for extra stability and firmness (And...by now, you know my addiction towards Heat embossing :) )

Added beads, natural hemp twine and made this Dreamcatcher as a mobile and hung on the texturous portion of the canvas using Hot glue gun and foam adhesives.

The sentiment is stamped on the plain tissue using Black Archival ink and similar to decoupage techniques, applied using Ranger Multimedium Matte.

"Custom Sentiment" is made using various stamps.

Yesss...Those Chevrons are from the Pattern it#1 Stampset. Stamped using Black Archival ink on white cardstock and cut individual chevrons for added interest and added to show the directions :) Is it not lovely...You can use as bg or as individual chevrons too :)

Used Timholtz bubble stencil on the canvas around the sentiment for little interest using Wendy Veichi Embossing paste and heat set it to bubble up. Then added Metallic Melon slightly for those pop up effect.

Final touches with Black Licorice Gelatos on the whole edges of the canvas.

That's all from me Dearies!! Hope you like it as much as, i enjoyed doing this :)

Did you heard the news....Oh Yeah! Mudra stamps are now available at The Craft Shop.
So what are you waiting for...Just Grab it and Stamp away!!

Thanks much for stopping by !

Happy Stamping!!
